Volunteering

Volunteers are an essential part of the fabric of McAuley Community Services for Women.  They strengthen and enhance our services and we greatly appreciate their time and efforts. As a group, volunteers have a wealth of knowledge, personal experiences and a passion for assisting women and their children in crisis.

The main roles of volunteers include:

- Administration work

- General cleaning/washing

- Welcoming women and their children at the crisis accommodation service

- Preparing the accommodation for the next woman who will seek refuge

- Assisting with preparation of meals

- Listen respectfully as women tell their stories

- Offer support and care in a non-judgemental way

Volunteer Requirements

Time commitments vary depending on the roles and responsibilities of volunteers but generally we require volunteers to commit to a minimum of one shift per month for a period of 6 months.
